Can drinking alcohol make your teeth sensitive?

Question:
I got my first cavity a few weeks ago and it hurt a few days after (normal I know) but then I got plastered one night and the next day my tooth that had gotten the filling hurt. I went back to the dentist a few days later and the dentist just put some desensitizing stuff on it and said it can take up to a whole month for it to become normal again. Can drinking beer increase the sensitivity of my tooth? Should I stop drinking?

Answers:
Although there are many good reasons to quit or cut down on drinking (health, longevity, etc.), sensitive teeth may not be one of them unless it really bothers you.

Sensitive teeth is usually caused by:
1) A receding gumline, which exposes dentin. The dentin has tiny holes which transmit temperature to your nerves. Toothpastes like Sensodyne or stanis fluoride treatments help fill these holes. Don't let your gums recede because it is very hard to get them to come back. Keep your gums clean by using an oral irrigator (waterpik). I like to use the waterpik last because it shows me everything my brushing and flossing missed.
2) Teeth with metallic fillings will also be sensitive.
3) Teeth with fractures will be sensitive.

The other thing I can think of is that beer is very acidic, which can potentially strip off the enamelized surface of your teeth...this might also explain the extra sensitivity. If you drink coffee, beer, soda, juice or anything acidic or sugary, rinse your mouth with water.
Alcohol contains sugars which you probably already know are not good when it comes to cavities and the like. You may want to brush your teeth when you're done drinking to reduce the damage you're doing to them.
Anything that is foreign to the body can the body be sensitive to -- that simple.

Don't indulge any needless point. Sensitive teeth are as arbitrary as any other part of the body amid alcohol consumption or any other consumption or ingestion of an alien substance -- even food, of course.

The body has its own way of waving the BS flag when you do something that is not beneficial to it or for it. See?
yes it washes out a lot of calcium in your body, leaving more nerve with less protection, but its only part of a bigger problem. not sure what to tell you
alcohol has tons of sugar in it, so i'm sure it can hurt your teeth, stop drinking, that's up to you, and how-much you like yourself?it looks as-if it bothers your teeth, it will make you gain weight and it messes with your liver, its all up to you?you know the answer, why you asking?
