Usually the first couple of days with braces, your teeth will be sore. Eating isn't fun. Eating soft foods and taking a pain reliever as prescribed will help. When I was little, my mom always took me to get a chocolate shake right after my appointment to the orthodontist. Our monthly trip to the orthodontist was our little time together. We'd have lunch first, go to the appointment, then drive back home (about 20 miles away) singing together with the radio. Some day you may very well look back at this time fondly. Maybe not today, but someday.
