Hi! If you talking about the last bracket that holds the wire then you need to go in the opposite direction. The barrel of the bracket is smooth and putting the wax on top to bottom makes it slide off. Try this. Don't handle the wax at all, take one finger and pull your cheek out, take a piece of wax in the other and push it down behind the bracket to catch the spring action and pull it forward towards your nose completely covering the whole bracket. THEN push it down. This takes a little practice, but should work. I've had my patients try this and most of them agreed it was the only thing that worked. If you have any other questions, please ask. Try putting it on in layers, but it's probably just going to rub off. Call your orthodontist and go by there for them to check it. You may have a wire sticking out that's catching your cheek. They can usually bend them or tap them down so they don't bother you.
And..eventually you'll have some scar tissue built up on the inside of your mouth. Little scrapes won't bother you as bad.
I'm getting braces and i want to know step by step what they do thankfulness?
To tell you the truth, the wax sucks! LOL...I've been through that. You have to get a big chunk, and roll it into a ball, and press it hard on the bracket, and kind of make it wrap around the bracket/wire sticking out.
There's really no other way to make it stick! Sorry - best of luck!
I have tonsillitis! How can my breath not stink!?
instead of wax try using the stuff they use for adhering false teeth.I think it's called Effordent < not sure, I had braces for five years...you can also just give it time because your cheek will eventually build up a callous in that spot and it will stop hurting. Good luck.
tooth extraction and bone graft?
First, put some orajel on the sore. Use a fresh piece of wax and mold it so that some actually wraps around the wire that your bracket is attached to as well as enought to cover the bracket.
Do you have to get PUT OUT for multiple dental extractions?
I used to get it a little warm until it was a little flexable and I would press it into the bracket. It was h*ll getting it all out but it really helped.
