They made need to rearrange your teeth a bit before they can pull the teeth. No, they shouldn't have to cut your gums, they'll just numb the area around the tooth and possibly give you a type of gas that will calm you but not make you fall asleep. Have no fear though, you'll be perfectly fine.
no they wont cut your gums. they just wont put brackets on the teeth that your going to get pulled. its not bad at all. usually they do take out the teeth first, but lately people want to get the teeth straightened asap so they do braces first, and other things later
Good luck! I haven't had my teeth ever pulled out before but my sister did and didn't hurt her. They give u numbing or put you to sleep so you dont feel it. Afterwards they give you pain medication so pretty much the whole time you can go through without feeling anything. Remember to wash out your mouth with warm water and salt it will help.
I had braces too, and I have to give u this tip: BRUSH CAREFULLY! make sure you brush your teeth twice as hard as you did before, because the braces make it hard to get all that junk out and can cause cavities or yellow teeth/spots after you get them off, if you dont keep your mouth clean
I've had permanent teeth removed and they didn't cut my gums. They just latch onto the top of the teeth with pliers and twist.

theyll probably remove the bracket on those teeth before pulling them and then reaply them
I got my tooth pulled out before i got my braces.
P.S. I'm getting mines like in two weeks.
they won't cut the gum, and they'll just skip the teeth that are getting pulled. Don't worry, I have to have the same thing done, I'm getting my braces on August 2, but the tooth I have is a baby tooth, so if it comes out before, it comes out before. GOOD LUCK!

Did the same thing to me... on mine they didn't put brackets on the one i was gettin pulled... my dentist pulled the tooth..then the ortho surgeon cut a flap of my gums up and put a button bracket witha little golden chain on the one they were pullling down... then the orthodontist used a wire to string through the chain and around my wire... everytime i would go back they would put it on the next link in the chain... my tooth was down in no time... in a shockingly little amount of pain. get my braces off in two weeks!
