Whenever i brush my teeth?

Question:
whenever i brush my teeth. my gum, i guess,? start to bleed. i have braces is that why they bleed and stuff. how can i make them not bleed.

Answers:
It's probably all of that junk food you eat... or maybe it's because you don't floss...
you just have to keep brushing and flossing. The bleeding means that ur gums are puffy and arn't being brushed enough!
They are not bleeding because of the braces. You need to go see your dentist and get them checked out. If you have not had your 6 month routine dental cleaning and checkup get it scheduled and done ASAP to find out what is wrong. Remember just because you see an orthodontist routinely it does NOT take the place of seeing your regular dentist every 6 months like you normally did before braces. See your dentist soon.
you need to go to the dentist and get your teeth cleaned. it could be also you need to change the type of toothbrush your using
I have the same promblem. My orthodontist said that my gums are like swolen or something so if you dont brush them it gets worse. Just keep brushing them really good and soon it will go away.
I used to have the same problem. My dentist says that it is because my gums are too soft and that I need to brush them more often. You need to brush your actual gums everytime that you brush your teeth to strenghthen them.
My gums bleed a lot when I brush my teeth too. I've asked my dentist if my gums are okay, and he said yes that they're suppose to bleed a little bit when you brush them. I don't think he's right, but yeah. I'm in the same boat.
I used to have that prob. It's possible you don't often brush your gums, nor do it correctly. Bleeding like that is often a sign of a gum disease. I once had gums taken out. They eventually grew back.
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and your gums should NOT bleed. Braces or not. This may because you are actually brushing too hard and not using a soft tooth brush. Gums are delicate and you are not scrubbing the kitchen floor. Flossing is the best way to be sure this will not happen.
I want to tell you I admire your due diligence in keeping a great hygiene program, but do not man handle you gum tissue. A soft, careful and gentle brushing is all they need. Braces do not cause this, not flossing does. Just be a little more careful and do not hurt the tissue. You are working hard with braces to have a fantastic smile for life, you need the gums to be healthy to keep this. So do this. Brush gently, but thoroughly, floss and rinse with a fluoride rinse and you have a smile that will make you so happy! And have it the rest of your life! If you have any questions, please ask, or speak to your Ortho when you see h/her. Marie.
EmaWee, your orthodontist or the hygenist can give you tips on keeping your teeth clean especially with braces.Oral hyienne is very important when you have braces. ( food trapped in tight spaces, risk of decay and bad breath.)Just a little tip you should also brush your tongue and cheeks to have a clean mouth.I agree that your gums are probably bleeding from poor brushing habits. With the highcost of braces I'd check with your orthodontist to be sure it isn't an infection.Take care.
you need to floss more. your orthodontist should be able to give you some floss threaders to help you get around the braces. Also, start using a rinse like Listerine or Crest Pro Health once a day. You also should be having a dental cleaning every 6 months, especially while you have braces on. That's a critical time to be getting your teeth cleaned & checked.
If you don't floss or brush properly or on a regular basis, your gums will bleed. When flossing make sure you're not just seesawing in and out (like when you're trying to get in between your teeth). As soon as you get it in between your teeth, slide the floss up and down several times against each tooth on each both sides.

Also if you're not getting a cleaning on a regular basis and you have alot of hard deposits, it doesn't matter how often you floss, it will most likely bleed.
