Sounds like it would hurt, but remember: dentists or periodontists do this all the time so they work it out to minimize pain and promote healing. Go for the painkillers and if they offer valium, take it, then do exactly as they say for recovery and you'll probably be amazed at how much worse it sounds than it actually turns out to be.
It doesn't hurt while you're under, and when you wake up, you'll probably feel pretty nauseated, but your mouth will be numb.
Afterwards it's really painful to talk, eat, pretty much anything involving your mouth. My pain subsided within a few days, plus pain killers help.
no not at all! i had to have a tooth pulled because i had a weird buldge on my gum filled with blood and i had to have a tooth pulled to drain it. they put in the novicane which numbed it, then they used this weird tool to pull it out, they they put one of those cotton ball things in my mouth because they buldge started to bleed and it was all done within 5 minutes and i didnt feel a thing. and i didnt after ward either. and since you dont have a weird thing on your gums it wont bleed. Seriously, your gonna be perfectly fine! good luck and i hope this helped and made you worry less!
