What the heck are those painful little bumps that show up on your tongue?

Question:
Is there anything to do about them or prevent them from flairing up? Does anyone know what causes them? I'm talking about when one of your tastebuds becomes inflamed and painful.

It DRIVES me crazy!

Answers:
My mom used to call them "Lie Bumps". lol.
They are just inflammed tastebuds. Something you ate or drank caused them to be irritated. Very rough food, salty food, acidic food. Maybe its your toothpaste (if you've switched recently). They usually go away within a day or so. Rinse with really warm salt water (2 tsp of salt/juice glass of water).
Monkey Pox.
I get those too. We are semi-allergic to the acid in things such as Pineapple, raw Tomato, Citrus - anything acid-y. I can eat them for a brief while but then they hit me. Bummer.
