Do you recommend that a 5year old get 3 root canals on the baby molars, she has no pain.?

call the ADA,in your area.tell them you would like information on pediatric dental procedures.
NO. She's far too young. Try a little anbesol, or ask your pediatrician.
The problem you might have if you don't do the root canals is that the decay can spread to the permanent molars underneath the baby molars, which you really don't want. If you are unsure, then go to a pediatric dentist and get a second opinion.
No, I don't recommend it. In fact, I don't believe in spending money on baby teeth. Its a waste. You know the tooth is going to fall out
anyway, right? If its not bothering her, leave it alone. This root canal on baby teeth is nothing more than an attempt to extort money from you.
no. see a pediatric dentist for expert advice
If they are "baby" teeth, they will be replaced by her "adult" (permanent) teeth.
I can't see why you would want to go through the expense of doing root canals on something that is going to fall out, not to mention having your child anesthetized at that age.

I may be missing something, but I would have to say "no".
First off I would like to state that I have been a dental assistant in the past, I went to school for it, but later found it to be a very boring and tedious job. I do still have all my books and remember much of my learning.
That being said, yes you should have it done. By not getting it done you are risking her being in a great deal of pain later. The affected teeth could cause a very painful infection called an abscess. The infected teeth could also cause the permanent teeth that are forming under her baby teeth to decay.
Hi! I have been in dentistry for over 25 years. I would have to see the xrays to tell you exactly what I think. But I will try to wing it now. These molars have to be in her mouth for at least 5 more years. The decay untreated will cause pain soon enough and have to be removed. The problem is then, the adult teeth will have problems. She can not chew properly without them, and the teeth in front will take the brunt of her chewing. This can cause a serious bite problem. More importantly, the adult teeth slide into place and erupt under the baby teeth. If the gum heals over completely, when they try to come in, this will be very painful and could cause the teeth to be over retained and cost alot of monies for an Oral Surgeon to open the site and pull then down. This is not what I would want any child to go through. The bottom line is Yes, do the Root canal treament and get stainless steel crowns on. Now let's get a plan to stop this from happening again. YOU need to brush her teeth, floss and get a fluroide gel or rinse from the dentist. This has to be done 2 times a day for life. The handwriting is on the wall. Your child has serious dental issues and decay and this could be a life time of costly problems and pain. And forget losing teeth as a teenager, that is disaster for self-esteem and self confidence. You must get a plan with the dentist now. And it will be costly now, but cost huge bucks in the future if not treated now. I know because I have done this for many years and I really hope and pray you listen to me. I grew up in the South of the USA and teeth had little or NO priority. I have had 13 root canals, 11 impants and all my teeth are restored. THAT is one reason I became a dentist. BECAUSE I know. And I do everything in my power to stop this with children and adults. Including charging little or as free as I can afford. Please do this. The long term is starting a new plan that works and the child will never have to go through horrible pain and loss of teeth and be embarressed. Please trust me on this. I know what I speak about. If you have any questions, need to talk, contact me. Marie.
Firstly, she may not be in pain now. But she will be eventually. Also, you don't want to extract (take out) baby teeth too early because then you would have to put space maintainers in. Otherwise, her permanent teeth may not come in properly. The decay in those teeth coudl spread to the adult tooth forming beneath them & cause problems for those. Sorry to say it, but if the Dr. says she needs RCTs & stainless steel crowns then I think you're gonna have to do it.
FYI- you're gonna have to do something, b/c if u don't & u seek treatment for the child, the Dr.'s office can report you to social services for neglect in some states. So even if you decide not to do the root canals, make sure you don't give the impression that you're ignoring the problem. Good luck!
YES! My son has what the dentist refers to as "a bad set of teeth". Remember, the baby teeth set the stage for the permanent teeth. Root canels clean out the infection. The will do this and even crown teeth if they are bad enough. The crown or a spacer is necessary to prevent other teeth from shifting out of place and causing the permanent teeth to come in crooked. She has no pain "NOW" but could later. And, yes, this can affect the permanent teeth that will form underneath. See a reputable pediatric dentist and don't delay.
