My gums have gone dark....?

Question:
The dentist says it is due to excess melanin. Is there way i can reverse this?
please suggest some remedies(medical or home-made).

Answers:
Melanin is the pigment in your gums. Saying they are dark due to melanin is away the doctor can put it without saying because of your skin color. am assuming you have a dark complexion. For example, typically African Americans will have darker gums because their skin is darker. There is nothing you can do to change it, and it should not be of any major concern.
