My clean teeth!?

Hi

When i was 11 i had a filling put in, but it fell out a few days later. After this my mam stopped taking me to the dentist.
However i have a son now, and we thought we should start going to the dentsist again to encourage good habits.
When i got checked i needed absolutly no work doing, so when i has the filling in my childhood, has my tooth miracuolsuly heald itself?? Or are dentists giving treatment when theres actually no need!

Sudden Cheek Swelling?

Answers:
no, it didn't heal it self. your tooth probably just fell out, and now you've got a healthy adult tooth

Would white and clear rubber bands look weird on my braces?

fillings are usuall used as a precaution so they would of put it in just in case it did disfigure your teeth.

What are the rubberbands for when u have braces?

When you were 11 you still had baby teeth - so I'd guess the filling went into one of them.
There is absolutely no way a tooth will re-grow around the drilled out area in a tooth to present a perfect one for you!

Braces?

To be honest I would be slightly concerned and questioning the recent dentist, as after years of not attending a dentist it is likely (although not definite) that you would need something done, and whether the original filling was necessary or not it would still have left a cavity which over years would indeed weaken your tooth - the very least is that this should have been filled again surely? Sometimes dentists are reluctant to do work on the NHS so it may be that this was the case, if you are a private patient I would still ask for a second opinion. Just to be safe and to protect your teeth from unnecessary damage. Good Luck

Could a fractured cheek years ago mete out teeth to die in a minute ?

HELLO DEBIE:
WHEN YOU WERE 11 THE TOOTH YOU PROBABLY HAD WAS A BABY TOOTH, AND YES THESE TEETH WILL FALL OUT.
IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE THEN ANDNOW YOU ARE AN ADULT AND HAVE ALL YOUR ADULT TEETH.
DENTISTS DO NOT FILL A TOOTH NEEDLESSLY. THAT IS ILLEGAL AND UNETHICAL.
ENCOURAGE YOUR SON TO VISIT THE DENTIST REGULARLY. GOOD LUCK.

Can you have your dental records mailed to your home to give to a new dentist at a later time?

It wouldn't be the first time someone did some unnecessary work to get money... or experience. When my dad went into the army with a couple fillings and basically good teeth, "suddenly" he (and most of his army buddies) had lots of cavities that needed filled... He's had trouble ever since.

In your case: teeth don't heal. Are you sure the tooth that got the filling wasn't a baby tooth that fell out later? Most people don't lose their first molars until they are 13+ years old. That would be my best guess. Or, the cavity was so shallow that that's why the filling fell out, and so the remaining tooth is still healthy, although surely your new dentist would have noticed it.

Congratulations on having such naturally healthy teeth! Lucky you : ) I've had good teeth too (2 cavities in 50 years; at 24 and 48!) and always thought it was fun to go to the dentist. Love that grit they use and how smooth and shiny my teeth feel after. Good for you for wanting to instill good habits in your son. : )

Is it true that toothpaste was once made of animal sperm?

.That could very well have happened to you.

A few years ago my sister and her friend went for check-ups at a dentist, both were told they needed fillings,4 for my sister and 3 for her friend.

In the meantime a new dentist opened right near her house so they went to him instead, only to be told my sister needed no fillings and her friend 1 small one,so yes I would say some unscrupulous dentists are doing unnecessary work to get the money from the NHS
