Crown and post or pull the tooth?

If you are planning on getting braces then they are going to recommend that you have your wisdom teeth taken out before you get the braces. It is expensive to have the root canal, post and crown but you should always try to save your natural teeth. The wisdom teeth should always be removed because they are very far back which makes them harder to keep clean so they can get infected much easier. Alot of people cannot have there wisdom teeth because there jaw is not large enough to support them and if that is the case then when they do come in they will cause your other teeth to shift and move. I think that you should remove all the wisdom teeth and have the root canal, post and crown done and then have the braces. You will be much happier with the end result. Good Luck.
PULL THE TOOTH! they will try to convince you to try to save it only to have the $3000.00 worth of work be a big waste of time.
Removing a tooth changes your bite and the alignment of the other teeth.
If you can afford to pay the fees for treatment, have the tooth repaired. There's nothing, ever, like a real tooth in your jaw.
This is one of those "all things considered" questions. If you take out the tooth and let the wisdom tooth come in to "replace it," it won't really line up right. There will be a space between the wisdom tooth and the remaining molar. If you try to fix the 2nd molar with a root canal and crown, you will still have to have the wisdom tooth because there is not enough room. If you want braces, you would use the $2,000 that it would cost to save this tooth towards the orthodontic fee. It may be possible to move the 3rd molar into a favorable position. I'd ask the orthodontist if this would be possible and I'd consider having the broken tooth removed. All things considered.
