Braces Question?

Should i get invisalign or Braces?

Which is cheaper
Has better results
And Takes less time

Help, I need some dental advice from a dental professional or periodontist in the Philadelphia suburbs area.?

Answers:
Braces are much cheaper and are usually always faster.

The problem with invisalign is that they are limited to only a few simple cases. As you know, they are "mouthguards" that will have to be changed frequently, which makes it more expensive than braces and makes the process slower than just getting braces.

Braces can of course be used in 99.9% of cases and orthodontists can do a lot more with your teeth and jaw if you have braces.

In very simple cases, Braces and Invisalign have similar results, but in all other cases, Braces are much more effective.

Braces are way quicker, and cheaper, if you dont want it to show, try ceramic braces or inspire braces, the are both still cheaper then invisalign. good luck!

Gum disease and an abscess tooth that is loose...?

i have regular braces, but iv heard about ivaslign
ivisalign is great cause its clear butttt:
1. it probabaly isnt covered by insurance or dental plans
2. for the appointments, you have to go constantly every 2-3 weeks so if you dont have time to commit to something like that, dont
3. you can take them out when you eat which is great, but its alot easier to just "forget" to put them back in, know what i mean?
and with traditional braces, sure they never do look very good but there is a new type out there which is a lighter weight kind and its just alot smaller and also they look more clear than the real metallic ones
talk to an ortho for sure...cause they are the professionals
both work good i think. well obviously the metals ones are perfect but ive seen and heard good things form invsalign as well.
the only thing i havea hard time picturing invisalign do is that if you have an overbite or underbite i dont understand how that would work with invisalign? because with the normal braces you get tiny little posts and elastics.enless of course they add 'blocks' to the plates of the invisalign which would make it just like a retainer. so it depends also on what you need to get done, because fixing a bite might be difficult to do with invisalign..and also i had retainers to originally correct an overbite (which im assuming the inviaslign would work very similarily to) and its results werent as good as with the braces, and they didnt last as long (which is why i ended up getting braces)
i think they both take about the same amount of time (average 18 months) ofcourse when they advertise invisalign theyll say something like ' get perrfect teeth is just 12 months!' but remmeber, you probabaly wont, not many people have braces for only 12 months!
again, talking to an ortho would be the best thing to do
