OK here is my dental ?

I'm trying to make a disition on getting Dentures.I'll be 33 on the 8th. So I'm young. And I'm worried that dentures will stick out real bad.I see people after they have had dentures and there lips and jaws stick way out. From what it looked like before. Is there anyway of keeping this from happening.I don't want my face to look way different or is this just a process. Is it better to get your dentures put straight in or wait for your gums to heal.I have very low self esteem and I know I won't be able to leave my house if I don't have teeth..WHat is the best thing to do...Thanks

How old were u when u lost your first tooth?

Is there anyway you can keep your real teeth?

If you do have to get dentures, the best would be to wait three months for your gums to heal. There are also immediate dentures that you get as soon as you extract your teeth, but those only last for a few months.

Dentures could change the way your face looks if they are not done properly. Usually it takes around 5 appointments to make good dentures. At the 3rd or 4th appointment, you try the dentures and make last modifications that you would not like before making them permanent. http://www.studiodentaire.com/en/treatme...

I would like some feedback on lower dentures. Any info would be appreciated.?

Talk to the dentist before you commit. There is absolutely no reason for you to look different, chew differently or be in pain - at any time. You need to get the dentist's commitment that you will be satisfied.

tooth pain around the gumline? what could it be?

1st off, it's always best to keep as many teeth as possible - it'll keep your jaw bones from shrinking (hence the difference in the look of your face). Especially retaining the canine teeth - they have the longest roots and are very good "anchor" teeth - this would allow you to get partial dentures instead if extraction is necessary. You always need to heal after extractions before getting impressions for partials or dentures because if you get them right away...in a couple weeks your tissues will have healed & shrunk & the appliances won't fit correctly. An option would be for a temporary bridge to be fit at least for the anterior (front) teeth -that is if you can keep some of the teeth - until your appliance is ready for you. Full or partial dentures will take time getting used to but it's harder to chew things like steak, bite into apples (especially with full dentures) - takes a little getting used to! Good luck!!

What does surgical extraction(erupted tooth) cost?

You should try to save as many of your natural teeth as possible. Dentures are not as functional as your natural teeth and they take a long time to get use to them. Alot of people have a hard time wearing the upper denture because it covers your whole pallet so it makes alot of people gag. The upper one will stay in better than the lower one because the upper one will create a suction because the whole pallet is covered. The lower one is not going to be like that. It just kind of floats around. You are so young and I really think that you will be disappointed with dentures. You should really try to save as many of your teeth as possible.

Can i eat sweets with my braces?

You should speak candidly with your dentist and get an understanding of his plan for you before anything takes place.

In most cases, immediate dentures can be fitted and placed at the appointment when your teeth are extracted. This is a common scenario and then you would not be faced with being without teeth.

As for how they look, getting used to them can take time plus your body needs to heal and swelling will go away. Be sure to keep a journal of your likes and dislikes, successes and failures with your dentures and share it with the dentist- it will help them make you comfortable and looking good.

It is a very tough decision to make and one that cannot be reversed so as other posters have said, make sure it is the right move for you.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like. I was 35 when I got my dentures.
