What's the difference?

Answers:
A cap is a popular term that can sometimes mean crown, other times it means filling or veneer.
Here are the scientific terms:
A crown is made out of porcelain, or porcelain fused to gold, covering the whole tooth giving back it's shape and making it more solid.
A veneer covers only the frontal face of the front teeth. It is made out of porcelain and is very aesthetic.
A filling can reconstruct a tooth with composite (white filling material), but it is less solid and less esthetic than porcelain.
Same thing. There are different types of crowns - porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, full cast crowns (gold or stainless). There is not much of a price difference - maybe $20-50 so go for the porcelain on anterior and porcelain fused to metal (for strength) on the posterior. Crowns usally cost about $800 - if you need a build up before the crown (ie. if there is decay or fractures) it usually runs about $200.
about $800...t
