Wisdom Tooth?
Question:
Answers:
I had a bottom wisdom tooth out at the beginning of the year. It was taken out under local anaesthetic and took weeks to settle down. Try to make sure no food is becoming stuck in the hole as this is what kept causing my pain. It took at least 3 months for the hole to completely close over! I am 28 so also waited to have it taken out.
Good luck. I hope you are more comfortable soon.
Yes, it will be sore for a couple of days too a week.
Yes, mine were sore for about a week after.
My husband only had pain for a couple of days, but I've heard several people say it hurt for up to two weeks.
Thanks for your answer. I am so confused about this whole wisdom tooth thing. The pain I still have one week and three days later is due to dry socket. I don't eat much of anything and stay with gauze over socket. YOu already know about that. It is still very uncomfortable to exercise as well. The procedure could have been tough(tough removing your teeth) and that can still have you in pain.
I am learning the best thing to do to cope with this experience is to keep the sockets clean, don't spit, and remember what I had done that relieved my pain without compromising the healing process. The oral surgeon told me as well that it was normal to be in pain, only up until 3 days, then when the pain persisted, he was doubting me and very suprised to hear of such a thing and left me sobbing in pain. Well I left him for his negligent care and pursued another dentists.
I am still learning about the extraction process, but I hope you are continuing to get better. This is what I can tell you about the pain. It is okay to get a second opinion.
