I'm going to have braces tomorrow. Does it hurt?

There's nothing to make you sick. They open your mouth, stick the brackets on your teeth with adhesive, then put the wire over the brackets. They use the little colored rubbed bands to secure the wire to the brackets, then they trim the wire so it doesn't poke you. Make sure that if you feel the wire poking you to tell your orthodontist, or that can become VERY uncomfortable. That's really all there is to it. Also, I've heard a lot of people say there was a lot of pain after they had them tightened, but mine never really hurt THAT bad. My mouth was tender for a few days, but I just stayed away from foods that require a lot of chewing. The worst part is, when they tell you how long you'll be wearing them, you can usually add a little bit of time to that.
you will not get a fever but there will be plenty of pain. you won't be able to open your mouth to long because it will hurt so you should stick to ice cream,pudding,milkshakes, soft not chewy stuff. It will also hurt when you get it tightened-usually every month or so. ubt hte pain when it gets tightened wont last that long
no it don't heart a bit all's that they do is basically glue them on and you only have them 2 years
no braces aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be
just when they tighten them, you might feel as if it hurts
i barely had any pain - if i did, i took an advil :)
also the first few days i ate soups... soft stuff
then progressed to the more solid foods - hamburgers, chips, etc
& it's true, you'll be wearing them longer than they say
not a fever, its just going to be hard to eat for a little while. dont eat anything too solid
naa..ull just feel ur teeth a lil tight and they will hurt a lil to eat for like a week or less...no fever..its not that bad..take an aspirin or something...
Unless you're getting a retainer, the braces should not hurt much (I don't have any experience at all with retainers, only with braces.)
I got braces on my birthday almost 4 years ago... I was wishing for them, too, so it was fantastic. =D
I was so glad to have them and enjoyed them so much.
That was only phase 1; I'm getting ready for phase 2 this year or the next (many people only have 1 phase, though).
they don't hurt, they just get glued on to your teeth.it only hurts
a couple of hours or a day every month when u get ur rubberbands changed. other than that there is no pain.
