I'm getting my expander next week and I'm scared. 'Any advice to help me out?

haha.. I'm getting an expander next week too. And I'm getting braces on soon after, also. So I know how you feel. My sister used to have an expander and she had no problems with wearing it.
The orthodontist will explain everything you need to know. I can tell you that your mouth will be sore for about 2 days, and you might talk a little weird.. but you will soon get used to it.
Just make sure to leave the expander in everyday. Leaving it out for a day or 2 could mess things up. And also, brush your teeth after every meal.. especially when you get your braces. But after everything is over with you're gunna have a great smile, and you'll be wondering why you were worrying.

well if its a jaw expander it doenst hurt to put it in.
but the turing of it every morning isnt the best
feeling in the world.
mine broke and started growing inside the
roof of my mouth. hurt really bad.

after your dentist gave it to you,,wear it regularly,it takes time to get used to it, but after that you get used to it. just take it off when you brush your teeth and put it back. every an hour, rinse it. and have them adjust every week.
I am wearing one right now. It is sore like braces at first when eating and so much saliva is in your mouth, but give it a month and you will forget you have it on, the top one only is annoying as it covers so much area.
