Getting my braces off ...YAY! BUT HELP!?
Question:
thanks peacee
Answers:
1) To get a mold of your mouth the technician will mix up a dental paste which is placed in a special tray. This is then placed in your mouth and allowed to sit for a few minutes until it dries. (It tastes kind of funky, but its not bad)
2) They may clean your teeth, but they don't whiten them - that costs extra! ; )
3) After having braces for what seemed like forever, it was the greatest. They feel so smooth, and you can't stop feeling them for days.
Hey! When you get your braces off, your front teeth feel REALLY weird, not in a bad way, but really smooth and OMG lol XD
When they do the mould, all they do is put a bit of like, playdough/clay stuff in your mouth and make you bite into it. That's all. It's not bad or painful or anything don't worry.
It will feel really strange at first when you get the brace off, but after a little while you'll be so thankful lol! They don't whiten your teeth when they do all this, but your teeth will look whiter anyway, trust me.

looks great..kinda hurts when they pull them off but after they look beautiful
you will look great! dont worry!
It was WEIRD when I got mine taken off. Your teeth feel really smooth! Getting them taken off is no where near as painful as getting them put on, only slightly uncomfortable. The worst part was was when they scrape all the cement off your teeth, but it's mostly the sound. To take molds for your retainers they just have you bite down on this white goo for a few minutes. My teeth felt a little wobbly for lack of a better word. They weren't actually wiggly, they just felt unstable without all the metal! :-) It's great finally getting them taken off, though!
I don't remember if they use impression glop to fit the retainer. If they do, it's only a little one. It feels great, you will not be able to stop smiling and feeling your teeth with your tongue. Getting your teeth cleaned would be nice after having them off.
they remove the wires then snap off the bracets. then, they get the electrical sander (that drill-looking thing) and sand down the glue. then, you have to go and wash out your mouth and brush as much of the glue off as you can. then you go back and they sand off the last bit of glue. it feels all slimy at first when you run your tongue over it, but it's a great feeling. no, they don't whiten your teeth. it looks great when it comes off. when they make the retainers, they get two trays and fill them with a foam-looking substance. first they put the top tray in your mouth and they press it up into your teeth for a minute then take it out, then they put in the bottom tray and press it down onto your teeth for a minute then they take it out. then, you go home and come back in about 6-7 hours and they have your new retainers!
