Bands supposed to hurt for this long help!!?

Try to eat only soft foods (cold is best for easing the pain) for a few more days or even weeks until you get use to the bands being there. Eating harder foods will cause the already loose teeth even more irritation. Also try not to let your teeth touch through out the day, just keep the teeth apart or the mouth slightly open. The constant clenching of the teeth can be causing pain.
The pain may also be associated with not keeping the teeth and tissue clean enough. Make sure to floss and brush exceptionally well! With bands, wires and brackets getting in the way it will take you a little longer and may be uncomfortable or even painful right now. You will only experience more pain by not keeping up with the hygiene with the tissue becoming inflamed from plaque being left behind. Try to spend at least 5-10 minutes working on just your teeth, two or three times a day for the best results.
Try to give your self time to adjust to the braces, it will be worth it in the end. In another week or two you will be a pro at wearing them and giving others advice. You will experience some discomfort when you have your monthly adjustments made too. Then they will be a little painful for a day or two, just keep the Motrin handy during those times. You will survive this! It just doesn't seem like it right now to you I know.
Hope I've been of some help. Keep thinking how beautiful your smile will be when this is all over. Good luck!
I have worked in the dental field for years. Yes bands hurt. Most depends on your pain tolerance. Try Advil, Motrin, ect as long as you can take that kind of thing. If it still is bad on Monday call you orthodontist. Three of my boys had bands put on last year - all of them said it hurt alot, but it was better in three or four days. Good luck!!
