Does running through a rainstorm on a full moon cause your teeth to go yellow?

Answers:
It's either an abscessed tooth, abscessed perio pocket, something lodged like popcorn or peanut skin or hull, or a serious sinus infection.

"If this could be from popcorn or peanuts" you can try the floss method. Taking a piece of floss and tie a single knot in it, then place it as you normally would to floss around the tooth in question, then "gently" pull the floss through "with the knot" sliding in under the tissue. Do this on both sides of the tooth. This will usually pull what ever is lodged or stuck under the tissue out. It may take a few tries to get it, but it will eventually work, just keep trying. After you remove the particle, rinse with warm salt water to ease the soreness.

If this is an abscessed tooth you will have to see a dentist. In the meantime you can take Motrin or Advil 800mg dose every six hours. If you have any antibiotics, start taking them now for a heads up on what ever your dentist will prescribe. You can use an ice pack but only if it feels better. Sometimes heat seems to help more, so you may want to try a heat pad if the ice doesn't seem to help.

If it's an abscess he can also try checking his teeth for any swollen area. If there is an area that "is swollen" he can try to express the pus by pressing against this area. Using his clean finger, he can press or push the area at the "root of the tooth" and push downward or outward towards the tooth or tissue surrounding the tooth. This may be slightly painful, but if he can relieve the pressure it will feel so much better.

Use really hot salt water rinses, several times today and in the morning to help ease the soreness. He can also use a peroxide and warm water rinse, mixed half and half. Try to hold the solution against the area for a minute or two if possible. Do this for "either” an abscess or something lodged under the tissue.

If this is extremely swollen and painful and he "doesn't" experience any relief from what I've suggested, then this may warrant a trip to the emergency room for antibiotics and pain medication. This is what they will offer along with a recommendation that he see a dentist, if it is a tooth ache. It's an added cost going to the ER especially if he is uninsured, but in some cases it's a must. Since I can't examine the tooth, this is up to you and what you feel is necessary.

Tomorrow morning he will need to see his dentist for an emergency visit. This is depending on if it was something under the tissue and you removed it, then it should heal on it's own. Hopefully what I've suggested above will offer some relief today and tonight. Hope I've been of some help. Good luck!

Getting Braces?

Cold pack. And go to ER

I enjoy a tooth agency odd can I get hold of it put fund to mundane?

He could have an absessed tooth. You should take him to an urgent care or er. If it is an absess they will have to treat him with antibiotics before they can do anything with the tooth.

does anyone else here have an expander and braces!?

Sounds like he has an abcessed tooth. His dentist should have an emergency number, if not go to the emergency room.

Wisdom teeth/intubation/admission ask?

How can i get rid of my Tonsil stones w/o surgery?

Sounds like an infection. Usually dentists have emergency numbers that you can call when it's not normal business hours. Check your phone book. If that's no luck, it may be worth a trip to the ER.

Why do my fillings hurt?

Alot of times someones face will get swollen from something wrong with their teeth, so tell you boyfriend to ask the dentist to see if he needs a root canal or maybe some fillings, if it isn't any of those, it could be a sinus infection, right before schoool got out, i had one and my whole face was puffy, and my teeth would hurt and my ears every once in a while, so if the dentist says its not a bad tooth then take him to the doctor and get him on meds, if you dont, it will get alot worse! trust me.

Question in the order of geting desirability teeth pulled?

Does anyone know what the average price of underbite surgery is in Ontario or anywhere in general?

well first i was gonna say it could be an allergic reaction to something or a spider bit, but then u said his tooth hurt so im guessing hes gonna need it to be extract... those are usually signs... Tell him to take some pain killers like Ib profane or advil... Tell him not to eat hard things it will just worsen the problem... no candy either!

How to enjoy whiter teeth?

Sounds like an infection in the tooth.

1) Take anti-inflamatory medicine (IE: over the counter Tylenol)
2) Call his dentist's (assuming he has a regular one) as the dentist should be available by cell for emergency. Dentist may prescribe prescription medicine to alleviate pain until he can come into the dentist office.
3) If he has health insurance, there is usually a 24 hour advice nurse who can help rule out possible problems - granted this is tricky as its dental or Ear/nose/throat related
4) Worse case, go to emergency room where they will have an 'on-call' dentist. "on call" means the hospital can call this doc and he's suppose to be available for emergencies on that given day. However, this route you will have to pay for ER room, ER physician and dentist fees.very expensive.

Hope he gets better!

Is there a group for oral maxillofacial surgery lovers ?or even people interested in this branch ..?

He has an abscess tooth and that is why his face is so swollen. He needs to see a dentist as soon as possible so they can put him on some antibiotics to clear up the infection. He is going to need a root canal to remove the infected nerve. He can always go to the ER and they can give him some pain meds and some antibiotics. No dentist is going to do any work on him with that bad of an infection. The infection will cause him to not get numb so he really needs some kind of antibiotics first. If he does not want to have a root canal done then the only other option would be to have it extracted. Whatever he decides it needs to be quick because it is not good for his body to have an infection like that. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.
