Can crowns be replaced?
Question:
Answers:
Most insurance will cover replacement of crowns after 5 yrs. You should go back to the dentist that did the work and tell him your not happy with the crowns and what you dont like about them... or find a new dentist that will give you the look you want. you have the final say on color shape etc. so be very picky find a doc that is very picky... Bleaching is a good start to getting a good crown match so bleach your teeth first and then get a shade to match
If you have a lot of money and you are willing to go through with the discomfort of the whole procedure, you certainly can have them replaced.
If your crowns are whiter than your other teeth, you can do a tooth whitening to make the colour closer. http://www.studiodentaire.com/en/treatme...
If your crowns are darker, then the only way to get the colour right is to remake them at a good dentist who has a good eye for crown colours. http://www.studiodentaire.com/en/treatme...
yes they can be replaced, the dentist will cut or remove the existing crown and will take a new impression and send it to the dental laboratory for the fabrication of new crown of your choice of color and material.
You can have them replaced. You really should have said something about the color before they put them in because they could have changed that very easily. All they would have done was picked a different shade and sent the crowns back to the lab and the lab would have just stripped the porcelain off and put the new shade on. When you do get them replaced ask to see the shade that they pick out so you can make sure it looks good to you.
