The filling may be too high. If you are biting on that tooth first before all of the others then it will be sore. If this is what is going on then you need to go back to the dentist and he just has to adjust it a little. When you are numb it is harder for you to bite like you would normally because you can't feel what you are doing. If the filling was deep and close to the nerve then that could be causing your pain as well. If the dentist said that it was deep then you may end up needing a root canal. I would call your dentist and let him know that you are having some pain still so he can take a look at it. Good Luck and I hope that you feel better soon.
Trauma to the nerve. It was probably a really deep filling and it's normal to have discomfort for a few days after.

If you still have pain after 4 or 5 days, call your dentist.
oh and it'll keep hurting sorry to say, when you have your teeth filled it will hurt when it gets really cold or really hot so avoid eating those types of things for a while. even when the temperature outside is cold it will hurt but with time it will hurt less often. It wont go away for a really loooong time though even when you dont get enough sleep your filling can hurt :(
