stuff some ice onto ur mouth! it will definately help... cz ice numb ur mouth so u won't feel so much pain. sometimes i just can't take it and bite my teeth together.. can't take it anymore... ( this is not a method to get rid of pain, stuffing ice is then one ) dun eat rice... drink porridge or mash potatoes... u can't really get rid, jst that there's won't so much pain when u numb ur mouth. next time, ask the dentist not to tightened to the highest point. loosen a little. hope this helps!
It will be alright after a few days... bear with the pain... no pain no gain, so keep on going!(=

i also have braces, after i get mine tightened i take 2 ibuprofens and 1 tylenol. that usually helps me. also try and go to sleep. eat soft food for a few days so that you wont worsen the problem and that should do great. it works for me. i got mine tightened 4 days ago and the pain is gone from doing what i just told you.
try any type of ibuprofen- advil, motrin or generic grocery store brands.
it usually helps if you take one or two before you go in to the orthodontist.
and if its too painful to eat-
soup is your best friend!
How Can I Tell if I Really Need a Root Canal?
It seems that different people have different experiences with pain killers, some like Advil (Ibuprofen), some like Tyleonal (acetaminophen), some like Aleve (naproxen) or good old aspirin. I think Advil is best. Aleve lasts many hours. Try them all, but of course not at the same time. You can get sample (travel) size of each to try so you don't spend a bunch of money experimeting.
