My dentists saya I need a posts in my tooth when he does a root canal, Is that dangerous?

I heard that when you get them you can't get a MRI and some other bad stuff

The pin is just a small titanium post that helps support the tooth so a filling and crown can be put on top. Nothing to worry about. Hope this helps, need any more of an explanation just let me know.
No its not it helps support the filling i have 3 and have had them for more than 3 years
