Can Sonicare hurt tooth enamel?

Question:
I use Sonicare for about 5-6 minutes (very gently) to get rid of the plaque that I can see along my gum line.

I've noticed that in the middle of my two front teeth, toward the bottom is turning a little brown due to loss of enamel. I hold my Sonicare there a little extra at the end to get rid of any extra enamel. Is Sonicare the reason for this? Thanks.

Answers:
Doubtful. Unless you are pressing extremely hard your enamel should be fine. Many Sonicare models will turn off if you apply too much pressure.

Consult your dentist for a deffinitive answer.
did i read your note correctly? you leave the sonicare there a little extra to get rid of extra "enamel"? plaque is what you should be removing. the sonicare tb is an excellant brush to do just that. the brush does the work for you and your job is to guide the brush along. i wouldn't leave it extra time on any tooth surface if you brush regulaly, why? you can also cause your gums to receed. good luck
