I have a wire behind my bottom row of teeth and it broke. Now what?

Question:
I cut off the part that broke off and the wire left is cutting my tongue. The other side is still in very securely and I can't get it loose. Is there a way to get it out?

Answers:
My guess is they put it on with some pretty strong permanent cement...so you will probably be unable to get it out. Go to the nearest pharmacy & see if they have any wax you can put on the wire to keep it from poking you. Call your dentist first thing in the morning =)
I'm assuming that whatever it was it was for braces, at least I can't come up with any more reasons why there'd be a wire in your mouth. Anyways I'd call up your orthodontist and ask them about it (get one of the doctors or assistants who work on the braces on the line, not a receptionist) and talk to them about it. Hopefully it's something minor, I remember a thin wire came off on my braces and it wasn't anything serious but just check in with them, they're your best source of information as much as I've been going there for almost 3 years now!
Go to the dentist?
My Orthodontist told me that the next time that I come in I can have it checked out but not to make an appointment just for that.
