Removing tarter..?
Question:
I have a friend that is a dentist and he told me there was away without going to a dentist and most dentist know but there not telling cause would lose business..
Answers:
Tartar is calcified plaque and it is like cement. You can't remove it without scaling (scraping) it off of the teeth with hand instruments or a power (ultrasonic, piezoelectric) scaler. Even if you could remove it above the gumline where you can see it, you wouldn't be able to remove it from below the gumline. If it isn't removed from below the gumline it will still cause gingivitis (gum infection) which will eventually turn into periodontitis (bone infection).
So I wish I could give you another way, but there isn't any rinse (or else) that will do this job. There was a product once that you would put on the tartar to soften it up to make it removal easier (I think it was softscale) but I don't think that is around.Hope that helps!
