Braces question?
Question:
so how long is the process of putting them on ??
and does it hurt while they put them on?
does it hurt after?
what do they excatly do when they tighten the braces do they get something to screw it to get tighter?
Answers:
k. the process takes about an hour.
you cant even feel them when they put them on.
it hurts really bad after.
and when they tighten the braces, they take out the wire and insert an even smaller one.
and if your tooth is gonna fall out, they wont put a bracket on it :]
Don't worry! I just got my braces today and it only took 1 hour to put them on. The actual putting on of the braces doesn't hurt but after wards it is just awkward. To tighten the braces they have a device, it doesn't hurt that much.
wow, sounds like your orthodontist should have talked to you a bit more! depending on orthodontist putting braces on can be from half hour to an hour. i should not hurt when putting them on, maybe slightly uncomfortable, but not hurting.
soreness is the best was to describe what you might feel. eating softer foods a day or so after would be best.
tightening your braces means changing the thickness and shape of your wire...there is no such thing as a "tightening device". your teeth feel tighter due to the thickness of the wire. braces aren't that bad! hope all goes well. and i hope this helped!! oh too, they don't put braces on baby teeth that still need to fall out. if your dentist doesnt' plan on pulling them, your orthodontist will just let those teeth fall out naturally.
The procedure takes 1-2 hours. It really depends on you what is wrong with your teeth. because... that area will have so much pressure it will hurt but if some other tooth's are fine they won't hurt at all. This is what my dentist does every month: Takes off the color before, fixes any broken brackets and take the wires out and put another one one and puts the color on. That usally takes 30 minutes to an 1 and 30 minutes.
1. The process of getting braces on takes about 30 minutes to an hour. 2 hours at the most. Mine took about an hour.
2. It does not hurt at all while they put them on. It's completely painless.
3. Afterwards, it does hurt, yes. Your teeth begin moving and it hurts to eat. Take some Motrin and you'll be fine.
4. When your braces get tightened, they just put a stronger [and usually thicker] wire in.
I'm not really sure how to answer your last question. I've never had that experience.
But don't worry, you'll do great.
