Answers:
Jaw surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. First of all, stop beating yourself up. Thumb sucking has nothing to do with your problem. This is stictly genetic. No person has the ability to suck hard enough or long enough to change the BONE structure of their jaw alignment to push their teeth out. So let's get that out and over with. IF this is simply a matter of teeth being out of occulsion, then yes, braces will do it and for how long depends on how much the teeth need to be moved. At least 2 years I would guess without seeing you. However, if the jaw position is also an issue then you may need surgery. Only a hands on Expert can tell your for sure unless you want to send me a photo, both smiling and your mouth closed and then open. I would be able to help you more. Veneers will close the gap, but NOT pull the teeth back which I suspect is a better choice. Since this is cosmetic and not functional, you will have limited Ins. HOWEVER, if you dentist makes a case for medical complications at a later date that need correction to prevent now, your medical Ins. would cover the surgery. If this is cosmetic, the rest is out of pocket, however, if you need this to function and chew and not get severe headaches and jaw pain (this is a hint), then your dental Ins. will cover the braces more than usual. See a dentist now and get a plan. If you need morehelp contact me here and ask for me and send some photos and I will try to give you more accurate detailed advise. And you go and get that college degree!! You will have certainly earned the rights to a beautiful and proud smile. Marie
