Why does my filling feel rough?
Question:
Answers:
Is it a temporary filling? Temps do feel rough because they are made out of different materials than final fillings.
Your tongue has the tendency to magnify things in your mouth, making them seem much worse than they are. Could be you just haven't gotten used to it yet.

If this isn't a new filling then you probably have broken it. If it is a new filling it will smooth down
If it is an old filling then have a dentist see it- if it is cracked or broken then you may have more decay behind it and it won't go away.
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and no it will not. Most filings smooth off in a short time with eating and not to worry. If you had a tooth colored material it takes a few days or week to smooth off. I usually do this myself and then put a glaze on the tooth, but that is me. If after a week or so, it stills feel rough, call your dentist and have him polish it. It only takes a few minutes and it will feel like glass. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
sometimes the dentis can forget to sand that part of the filling, it has happened to me before. if it was just recently filled then call your dentist to set up a appointment and when you see the dentist tell him that it is rough and they will make it feel smooth. they did it for me on several occasions.
PROBABLY BECAUSE iT WAS JUST PUT iN..iTS ALWAYS LiKE THAT WHEN U FiRST GET ONE..NO iT DOESN'T STAY THAT WAY..AFTER AWHiLE iT WiLL BE SMOOTHER
Because it's a new filling and the dentist didn't use a polishing cup on it. Ours are white and we have grey ones as well, and they are similar to what the hygienists use to polish your teeth. We don't do this all the time it does depend on were your filling is, because with use and brushing, it will smooth itself out. However, if it becomes bothersome call your dentist and he can put a quick polish on it.
