I got my braces yesterday and now I have a lisp will that go away?

Question:
the only reason why i have it is because the ortho puy like some plaster thing on the back teeth and I cant bite down correctly so will this go away?

Answers:
The lisp will likely go away after a few days once you get used to the feeling of the braces in your mouth. I had a similar problem when I got braces at age 12, but I learned to cope after a while. Keep in mind that things won't go completely back to normal while the braces are on - it will always feel weird, even though you'll get accustomed to it.

However, they'll only be on for a couple years, and the years will go by quickly, even though it may not seem like it right now. And when you get the braces off, you'll be so glad you had them! :)
I'd be more worried about bad breath from braces. You have to brush more frequently, now because food particle lodge themselves under the metal.
I start spitting out A LOT when I got my braces on!
This still is happening coz I still have my braces on...

I'm sure it's gonna go away as soon as you remove them..

Just practice your "S" all the time, ok? lol
You will need to practice speaking with your braces. I had to speak very slowly before I overcame some of the speech problems I had with my lingual braces.

It's worth it though, once they come off! My teeth are beautiful now.
I had a lisp for about a week after I got my braces. It was because I had a pallet (sp?) expander on the roof of my mouth. It went away after about a week. You will be fine.
