Getting braces in 3 days what should I expect?

How do they put the braces on your teeth/what do they do and will it hurt? What is that whole lip strecther thing about, it looks scary in pictures and really uncomfortable!
What is my mouth gonna feel like after I get the braces on? I have heard that your lip will be sticking out and look all fat and it will feel like you have really strange things on your teeth (well you kind of do).
What is the pain like and when does it start? I have also read somewhere that it will feel like you just got punched in the mouth or a baseball just it yu in the mouth, really hard, is this true? How bad is the pain for the first couple of days to the first week out of 10, 10 being the worst?

I got braces about 3 months ago. It feels uncomfertable when they stretch your lips, but there is not suppost to be pain during the procedure. They clean your teeth with a disgusting tasting paste, try very hard to keep your toung away from it, it tastes disgusting. After cleaning, you rinse out your mouth and the tase goes all over your toung. Then, they cement the braces on to your teeth. Next, they put a wire through it which will guide your teeth to a stright position.
When you first get it, it has a sort of numb feeling. If you bite something too hard, it hurts like ****. Also, be very careful when chewing, it hurts like **** if ur teeth accidently hit each other while chewing. In other words, to avoid pain, dont apply any sort of pressure to your teeth. Break your food with your hands. The pain and numb feeling only lasts for a few days. Its different for peopl. Mine lasted about 4 days, but eased up as the days went by.
You will have to eat soft foods the first few days, but after the pain goes away, u still have to avoid some hard foods. Ask your orthodontist to be sure.
And the annoying painful thing is u get soo much cuts from freekin braces, some dont hurt, others are a pain in the #$%. There might be 5 cuts at once, it really sucks.
Ur lips dont really stick out, but it feels weird, but u will get accustumed to them in ur mouth, and u will get accustum to talking with braces.

It hurts for a few days after you get braces i'd say the pain was a six. have you had the spacers yet? because if you have the braces don't hurt as much as that.
you wont be able to floss for a while because that will hurt.
the lip stretcher thing isn't too bad, just make sure you're wearing lip balm so your lips don't get all cracked from it.
you're lip won't stick out or look fat. don't worry about that.
it doesn't feel like being punched in the mouth at all.
okay.um they cement some brackets to your teeth then they put the colors on...uhh yeah its uncomfortable and yeah not too fun..then you leave with your mouth feeling like its gonna fall off and the wire digs into you...then you like get cuts from it.. ew not goin there...then your cheeks are all fat and you look ugly until you get used to it..(hehe) ummmm bad pain for like 12 days!! ahhhhh have fun with this excperience!! you are gonna say "ahh i want them off" when they get on...anyways good luck and yeah!

I just got mine on two months ago, biggest thing you should be aware of is its going to hurt like a ****er to eat the first few days after theyre first put on...cereal was like excruciating for me, have soft foods ready cause its going to hurt like youve been punched in the mouth.
It doesnt hurt at all when they put them on, but then three hours later it's terrible, the lip stretcher thing is just a piece of plastic they use when putting them on, it's nothing.
Your teeth will be really sensitive too. I dont know what that person is saying about flossing, you can floss, and when you have braces the pressure from flossing hurts at different points depending on what teeth are moving.
When theyre first put on itll take a week or two for your mouth to adjust you wont really know what to do with your lips and youll constantly play with them with your tongue. But after a week or two its like you dont notice them, to a certain extent.
Anyway to sum it up, your lips are going to crack, your gums are going to hurt bad if you keep moving your lips over the braces, and its going to hurt to chew, good luck!
well let me tell you you dont have to change your eatting habits at all all you hav to be carefull of is eatting chips, gum, and HARD candy. I once popped a bracket off eatting dorito's (chips) it sucked. Also when you first get them on you wont feel anything the first, 3 hours of so, sure you might feel weird with them, but im saying you feel PAIN in the first 3-4 hours, after that YOU CANT NOT BITE, lol, it was a pain for me. I wanted to cry seriously, and ima guy. Just some advice, get some yogurt, and food like that, that are soft to chew or esle you wont be able to bite down on them. Also this pain will last about 3-5days, i wasnt even able to do the simplest thing like eatting my f-ing favorite food, like pizza. In all it WILL suck for a couple of days, but just stock up on yogurt ice cream and things like that for atleast 3-5days and you should be ok, ALSO FOR THE COLORS NEVER PICK PINK OR YELLOW you will regret it, may i recommend dark blue or blue, those are the only colors i have stuck with for the past 2 years, lol. GL.
also, how long are you going to have the braces on for? Sometimes you forget you have the on, happens when you have the on for a while.
hi, don't worry. my kids both tell me that after the braces are put on, it feels strange and a bit uncomfortable. nobody notices you have braces until you open your mouth. it aches only for the first couple of days and then again after they tighten them after six weeks. but my eldest son got though it and it is amazing what they have fixed. my next has still got the braces and he said (he's 15) that it is worth it. and not as bad as he thought and he is someone who wouldn't open his mouth at first! don't worry. a couple of painkillers on the first day and then you will be used to them!! and remember its not forever! by the way, the stretcher thing is so they can take photos of before and after! colours depend on what is fashionable!! choose your favourite colour. it doesn't hurt when they put them on, x
i have braces and it didn't hurt at all, nothing to worry about. You don't get a shot in the gum. They will put the individual brackets on each tooth, then they insert the wire through the brackets. Lastly they will put tight bands(tiny rubber bands) around the brackets to pull on your teeth. This may cause a little bit of tooth pain but it's not bad. Dont be scared to eat any thing(except gum, carmel, etc.) I was scared at first because i thought it would hurt. It doesn't. I didn't feel much pain. On a scale 1-10, 10 being really bad pain, id give it a 2. The braces do feel wierd because it takes up space in your teeth. You get used to it though. the lip stretcher thing does make your jaw tired but that's the only hard part. It doesn't hurt either. For the first week it will hurt and be uncomfortable, and it will restrict you from eating some kinds off food. but after that you wont even tell thier there. and you can start eating normally again
