Salty taste in my mouth?

Question:
This happened about two months ago. I noticed a salty taste would overwhelm my mouth. It seemed to be coming from the inside of my lips. The taste was only in the front of my mouth and it could make mint gum loose taste after 30 seconds. It also gave me bad breathe. Then it went away and hasn't come back. Anyone know what it was?

Answers:
The salty taste in your mouth could be from dehydration. Excessive consumption of alchohol or caffiene can cause dehydration so make sure your not drunking alot of that because it can cause your saliva to taste salty. You could have also have a salivary gland disease, like a bacterial infection. So if that's the case I'd see a doctor or a dentist. Also, if you have allergies, the salty taste could be caused from post-nasal drainage. Either of these things could be the cause but who knows. Hope this helps!
