Do spacers hurt?
Question:
Answers:
my brother had them, and he had no problem with them
i dont even think he remembers he has them
nope, they shouldn't hurt
if the orthodontist puts the spaceres in right.
make sure you don't eat for 45 minutes so the glue
can fully dry, that way the spacers dont dig into your gum
causing much pain when you eat.
They can make your teeth tender for a couple of days, but it shouldn't be too bad.
they do at first, but then you get used to the and then they stop hurting.
Mine hurt like crazy for the first few days, you should be fine though, they make your mouth feel springy
my son has 4 spacers in July 30. its does not bother him at all . he ate a hamburger and fries the same day. the orthodontic told me some need 6 or 4 spacers or none. just take Motrin. my son will be getting his braces in Aug 6. i going to give him a good breafast and give him Mortrin. Monday morning before his appt. she also told me to put (Oral Gel).
Not at first. But a few hours later, it slowly starts hurting. The pain is more like pressure pushing your teeth. Before you get them on, i suggest you go shopping to buy some soft foods to eat for ex. yougrt, jello, mash potatos, stuff like that. in about 3 days it should stop hurting.
i still have mines on, getting them of in 3 days (:
The spacers will feel similar to a piece of meat being caught between your teeth. You will avoid eating anything sticky etc. while they are in there. Sometimes you will lose one as the space gets bigger no problem if your ortho appt is soon but if one comes out and it will be awhile before your appt. they will probably want to put it back in. The separators are to make space for the bands that go around the teeth. Just brush well, they will make you a little sore but shouldn't be too bad. Always seek the advise of your Orthodontist.
not really! the first couple of days they might be a little sore but i was able to eat anything i wanted to. just avoid sticky foods.
