I just got braces how do i get through the pain?
Question:
Answers:
pain relievers (advils). when eating foods, start off eating really soft foods so that you won't experience much pain while eating. Drink soup (chicken noodle soup, congee, clam chowder etc.) or maybe even some pasta if you can handle it. Other than that, i suggest you wait cuz the pain will eventually die away. For the time being, just take pain relievers.
take some medicine
ibuprofen
Motrin
or any other pain killer
but the pain should only last for the first week or less
just let it go... u have to get use to it... if ur going to take medicine everytime it hurts, u wont get used to that.. my advice is eat liquid first... a day or 2 the pain is gone believe me... ive been there done that and iam about to remove it :) just sacrifice urself... remember PAIN IS BEAUTY :)
If you haven't already tried it definitely use dental wax. It's wax designed for braces. You put it on top of the braces and it stops the pain from the braces scraping your mouth. I also had to use Ambesol to numb the areas; it really helped. It gets better in time but keep a supply of wax. Your orthodontist can give you some and you can buy it too.
Eat soft foods as you adjust to the braces.
Also pray! Prayer works!
The technology of braces has improved considerably over the past two decades. Today's braces are more cosmetically appealing and more comfortable.
The purpose of braces is to adjust tooth and jaw alignment, and that can sometimes irritate the tissue around your teeth and cheeks. You can rely on AnbesolĀ® Jr. for instant relief from the occasional soreness and pain that can accompany the use of braces.
If your gum or cheek pain persists, contact your orthodontist or dentist as soon as possible.
