Black mark on groove of back tooth - normal or not please help!!!?

Question:
it wasn't even there yesterday! I thought something was stuck but it won't come out! What is it?

Answers:
it might be tooth decay but a black mark wouldnt appear out of thin air it would be very gradual , it could be some staining or a really annoying piece of food stuck there but if it turns out to be a cavity a dentist would do a filling if its small it would be whats called a composite filling where it it white and matches the color of your tooth but what they do to fill the cavity is give u anesthesia..(sometime cavitys are so small they dont require anesthetic) then they start to clean out the area of decay, after getting rid of the cavity the put some blue gel in the area then wash it away(what this does is make the surfaces a bit rough so that the filling stays in place) some bonding agent is
put into the area( its like tooth glue)put a blue light to harden it, then the composite material , put a light on that then they have u bite on paper to check your bite and the doctor will adjust it as needed it takes about 15 to 20 mins sorry it was long winded but i hope it helps you
ps u cant hide the black mark if it is tooth decay 1 you dont want it to get worse 2 it will show up on the xray pictures
It could be plaque or tooth decay. You need to see a dentist. All the best!
ewww!!i don't know. a black mark on your tooth. go to the dentist i guess
This most likely is a cavity. (If your SURE it cant be moved, like a bit of food.) The dentist I'm sure will see it. If it is a cavity, it will have to be taken care of... filing it. Or else it could lead to the loss of the whole tooth.
