Should I have my teeth straightened? They are wonky but nothing awful!?

Question:
It would cost 3 grand and I would have to have train tracks for 2 years. I am 24, single, female. Would it affect jobs, getting a partner etc??

Answers:
Depends on how much they bother you. I personally like quirks. Look at Patricia Arquette, her wonky tooth adds character to her face. Also look at Kate Moss, all the money she has and she still has an uneven teeth. As for Kirsten Dunst, she wouldn't be as pretty if she had that typical 'straight' smile. If your teeth do bother you get them done as soon as possible because I think the older you get the less comfortable you'll be wearing a brace. But, like I said before I prefer the natural look.
I asked my dentist if I should have something similar done and he said that our teeth are what gives our face character and that we should all stop trying to look the same - the man had a point!
If the teeth are working OK and you can eat all right. I would leave well enough alone. Any work on your teeth is likely to cause problems .
I know it sounds crazy...but I have and I know that a few blokes I know quite like a quirky smile!
I dont mean like Mr Edd (the horse) style, but Avril Lavigne, Madonna etc.
I personally liked David Bowies, tom Cruise (before they were set) and there was a guy from and old rock bands teeth.
Anyway...I got a little distracted then!
I think that it is your choice. It seems like a lot of money.

Only one way I can think of a test to see if you should:

When you laugh naturally.do you cover your mouth?
Have porcelain veneers fitted if you want an improvement straight away.
I would prefer to see them to make an accurate judgement. However £3,000 is a lot of money if they are not too bad. It shouldn't affect jobs (maybe modelling!) or getting a partner. Would you want someone that was only with you for your looks or loved you for who you are?
Leave them as they are - honestly, it is what gives your face and your smile character. If you want to do anything, just whiten them but at 24 I would imagine they are anyway.
they are you and if they arnt that bad then i think you should leave it. its a lot of money and it wont stop any job offers. and would you want a man who was so vain that he wouldnt like you if your teeth wernt perfect? only get them done if you want to and are really worrie about them.
Talk to your dentist. If its possible that you need braces don't hesitate otherwise you could have worse teeth issues in the future.
I'm 26 and have had my train tracks for a year now. I'm having great fun with all the funky colour combos you can have the bands on the brackets.

Mine weren't straight by any means and caused a jaw problem. Plus I hated every photo I ever saw of myself with an open smile. So I decided to get em straightened.

The only impact is has on jobs is the fact that you need to go to your ortho every 6 to 8 weeks so that means popping out of work fairly frequently to get your braces tightened. I'm lucky as my ortho does out of hours appointments.

Wouldn't know about getting a partner cause I still have the same one I started out with before the braces.

Ultimately it's up to you. Would you smile more and feel more confident if you had it done? In which case it is worth it. If not then I wouldn't bother. Not only is it expensive but it is rather uncomfortable at first and can be uncomfortable for a few days each time you have the wired replaced.

I've had to have four teeth removed and these little screw like things called micro implants screwed in to my upper law - but I'm still dead chuffed with the results so far. Well worth the pennies :)

It all depends on how important it is to you. You sound like you have doubts, and if you have no medical reasons to get them straightened then take some more time out to think about it.
