Wisdom teeth?

Question:
what age do you usually get your wisdom teeth? im 23 and don't think i've got mine yet and to be honest theres no room for more teeth in my mouth, i haven't had teeth taken out or anything, how much teeth should you have ?

Answers:
Not everyone gets wisdom teeth. Some people have them but they never erupt. Your dentist could take a panoral x-ray and let you know if you have any hidden away. The average age for them to come through is late teens, early 20's but I'm 27 and am just getting a second one of mine through now, so it can vary. But don't worry if you don't get any, it's nothing to be concerned about. And if there doesn't seem to be much room for them, you probably won't get any anyway. Make an appointment with your dentist and they can tell you what you need to know.
I got mine in young, and had to have them all taken out by 17.
You may already hav them, i got mine without knowing it, honest, i was at the dentist and i asked her when would i get them, and she was like "but you already have them!!!
I got mine wen i was 21 but had teeth removed to make room 4 dem, but my friend who also got them at 20 had to hve hers removed b4 they erupted nd it was v painful had to stay off college for a week
Wisdom teeth can erupt beginning between the ages of 17-21, but I have seen people in their 60s who still have unerupted wisdom teeth. If they never erupt, they may not cause problems. Many dentists prefer most patients to get wisdom teeth extracted, which is a type of oral surgery. It is very beneficial to get them extracted because they can cause problems with other teeth and with the jaw. But if they're not erupting or causing you pain, then you're fine! Also, it is common for people to be missing wisdom teeth because of genetics. You may not even have them at all. If you have them, they will be visible on a panorex radiograph. The adult dentition has 32 total teeth (including wisdom teeth), but many people are missing teeth due to genetics.
I only got mine in the last year or so (27), as for not having enough room, nor did I, it bloody hurts for a while-use clove oil, its a natural anasthetic (just don't get it on your tongue or gums-its horrible)
you may not get any. I had two on the bottom, but none on the top, and I'm 28. I did get them late though, mid 20's. We're evolving and eventually, people probably wont get them anymore. i wouldnt worry about it, consider yourself lucky. As long as theyre not impacted and/or giving you problems...theres no need to worry :)
Hi! This question has no real answer. I 've been in dentistry for over 25 years and have seen 12 year olds have problems and then 50 years old with none. So it is all individual. The common answer is anytime after 16, wisdom teeth can begin to mature and be a problem. Mostly when braces are an issue. However, some people NEVER have them fully develop and it's not an issue. If you have no problems, why go looking for it?
However, I take x-rays, once a year for cavity detection between teeth and if I suspect any wisdom teeth activity, I check for it and make a note in the chart. After that I wait and see. The average person has 28 teeth. 32 with wisdom teeth. But I have also seen people NOT get a second molar and a wisdom tooth instead! And others that did not get a pre-molar, and had room for wisdom teeth. SO PLEASE don't panic, don't worry about it until it becomes an issue if it ever does. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie.
i got them taken out before they came out when i was 17. surgery...but they gave me laughing gas so it didnt hurt 1 bit. was swollen for a few days and thats it.
Normally most people have 4 wisdom teeth. They usually come in during late adolescense or early twenties however I was different. I only had 2 wisdom teeth both on the bottom and no top ones. The ones I did have never came in. They pushed up every now and then over several years but never did any more than that. I eventually got mine removed just so they wouldn't hurt my other teeth if they ever did try to come in. The dentist said it's best to get them out because it's too hard to brush and floss back there and you can get cavities really easily.
They're way in the back. I didn't have room either. Mine looked like regular straight teeth one hygenist called them "pegs." Even though I was put to sleep I was awake enough to demand to be given my teeth when I left the office hahah!! They thought I didn't know what I was talking about but I insisted & they put them in a sealed bag. I still like to take them out & look at them. I had only 3 they took out 2 & left the "peg." That peg has still grown down a little bit.
wisdom teeth can mature at any time in your twenties, my appear after I was 25,
