When you get your cleaning ...?

Question:
Is the paste they use special? Or is it just like regular toothpaste? ...What's the difference?

Answers:
Hi! This is a special toothpaste in those little tiny tubs that have a favored pumice in them. This is not something that should be used at home as is will cause abrading of the teeth if over done. This has to be used by a professional that knows how much pressure to apply so the tooth is "polished" and not "scratched". I tell my patients that regular store bought toothpaste with whitening action used 2 times a day will have the almost the same effect. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
Its special. It is more coarse than your regular toothpaste. It is made with pumice in a variety of coarseness and flavors. You wouldn't want to use it on your teeth everyday.too abrasive. It also has fluoride in it.
The paste is a little different; stronger, I think. I get my teeth cleaned out every 6 months.
It has course bits of silica in it, which is more abrasive than
normal toothpaste. There are different grit sizes: course,
medium and fine. It is great for removing stains and makes the surface of the teeth feel really clean and smooth.
