I have a lump on the upper part of my gum where wisdom teeth were extracted. Is this normal?
Question:
I have no clue what this lump is and I'm wondering if I should get it checked on or if its just a small irration that will clear up. Should I be concerned? Thanks!
Answers:
The lump may just be an irritation from the stitches or some other reaction to your recent procedure. I would give it a day or two and if it gets worse or doesn't heal I would see your dentist ASAP. Also, if it is bothering you a lot, I would schedule an appointment now--if you have a lot of pain something usually isn't right. Good luck!
You have an infection in your gum. Get to the dentist immediately. It will only get worse and throb until you think your head is going to come off. He should open it up so that it can drain and put you on antibiotics to clear it up.
