Answers:
his braces shouldnt hurt all the time. Mine only hurt a week-two weeks after being tightened. but when they are tightened. my god.. the only thing i can compare the pain to is being hit in the mouth with a baseball bat.

He should take Ibuprofen.. it works better than any other pain killer i've tried.

however, if you really want to make him feel better, buy him tons of ice cream, pudding, jello and soup. if he's anything like me it's all he can eat right now!
Just reassure him telling him his teeth will be straight and he wont remember the pain
I went through it too and there isn't mush you can do just dope him up with ibuprophen and know it's for the best.
Did you tell his orthodontist, maybe they put them in wrong.
When I had my root canal, my dentist recommended Aleve, one tab every 8 hours, it's very good.
i have got them in.after getting them put in they should stop hurting after about 2 weeks maximum, well mine stoped after 5 days and they should hurt for about 3 days after getting them tightened. hope this helped!
