Tightening braces?

Question:
I recently went to my first appointment after getting braces, assuming they were going to change the color of my braces and tighten them. they did change the color, but a few days after the appt, and i still felt absolutely no pain whatsoever, and i am wondering if the dentist even tightened them! shouldnt braces be tightened every appt, and if he did tighten them, why arent my teeth hurting?

Answers:
Dentist did tighten them, your teeth just got used to the pain so it's unoticable.
I doesn't always hurt. Especially if you have had some osteoblastic activity and the teeth are assuming the proper angle to get ready for a bodily shift. There are no pain receptor nerves involved. There are cycles of bone adsorption and bone rebuilding involved here. It is not a straight line process. I mention this so you can figure out what is going on in your mouth better.
