Question:
i went to the dentist yesterday for an adjustment on my upper denture. She did a great job. When she was finished it fit great. The next day though,it fely like it once again was a little loose. Is it supposed to be that way?.I feel like the only way i will ever be happy with this thing is when it doesn't move at all,but if that were to happen then that means i won't be able to take it out.I will eventually of course ask her the same thing, but i just wanted to get your opinion on the matter.Should i just except it always being a little loose and thats the way it is.Or..should i let her know its still a little loose and ask her to adjust it even more..thank you for your answer.

when you had your dentures fitted your gums were probably swollen thats why they fitted tightly when the swelling went dsown they went to the right fitting yes they should be a bit loose you will get used to them good luck with them
Dentures are not stuck to the gums so they will be a little loose. If you think an upper is bad, a lower one is so loose a patient has to hold it in with their tongue and cheeks so avoid that one if at all possible. I assume you are taking the denture out at night [if not, you need to do this to help prevent further bone loss], and usually, in the morning the denture will be a little looser than later on. The only way a denture can be made more secure is to have some implants placed and then have the denture snap onto them. Good luck with your new prosthesis but remember, they are NOT real teeth.
