Whats wrong with my jaw?

Question:
Suddenly today my jaw started hurting. It started out like a dull pain, then moved into a little pain in the ear on the same side, and has moved back to the right side of my jaw. It has increased and pain.

The things I have thought of are.
Chewing on the side of my mouth (the meat), making it sore.
Chewing on too much ice.
Grinding my teeth at night. (subconciously)

I take good care of my teeth. I don't eat many sweets, and I brush twice daily. (sometimes 3+ times!) I only eat twice, once at school at lunch, and once at dinner. I go to bed 2 hours or so after dinner so I brush them then.

Answers:
I had the same symptoms and was diagnosed with arthritis in my jaw.,.No more chewing gum , ice or hard crunchy foods..take 2 Aleve twice a day and cut out all the crunchy stuff..Also a way to tell (sounds stupid I know but it works) is to put your finger in your ear, now move your jaw up and down..if you feel a click..it's arthritis..that's how my doctor diagnosed mine..Now off all the crunchy stuff it doesn't bother me..Good Luck.
your muscles are probably just really tight from grinding your teeth. try and massage your jaw muscles
Actually all of those things are your problem. Chewing ice at all takes the enamel off your teeth. Grinding your teeth can take off enamel and push your teeth into your gums. Also, I have braces and have been through all of this before. It isn't good. Tyr to stop these things and if it doesn';t work contact your dentist.
well did you get punched?????????...
