Small rubber bands instead of braces?

Question:
I have a gap between my front teeth, and yes, I'm aware that if I do this, I will create spaces between my front teeth and my second front teeth (I could probably get those bonded or just do the same with the rubber bands), but I was just wondering if I do this, the space will eventually come apart again right? same thing with braces, that's why you need to wear a retainer after having them. But will my front teeth fall out or something? hahaha.I'm just kind of scared, I've never actually done anything to my gap before, and I'm just nervous.

Answers:
Well it might work. Every ones teeth are different, but mine were really stubborn and took a long time to move. Plus, it is painful and you might make it worse in other ways. (There is a reason why orthodontists make so much money.) You are right, it might just go back to the way it was. Unfortunately, there is no way to know for sure.
You could get veneers if you don't want braces. I am pretty sure your teeth won't fall out though.
You should be aware that the method you are planning to use is the same method used to extract teeth in hemophiliacs. So be careful. Please let me clear up something else. For the situation you describe, after orthodontic treatment, you do not need retainers. The space will not come back because you have done a bodily shift on the posterior teeth and teeth do not move bodily posteriorly. Have you investigated bonding to the sides of the front teeth? You might also realize that what you are planning is to tilt your front teeth. Is that the look you want?
