Hi there i am sorry to here that you have had such a bad time, it sounds like it was a hard tooth to take out, you don't mention what tooth it was but from the way you talk it sounds like a very back lower tooth either a wisdom tooth or the one in front?, if the tooth was decayed then this will make the extraction harder, but again from what you say it sounds to me like it was just a root or a wisdom tooth that had not erupted fully. If this is the case then there can be a need to move the gum away, this is done with most extraction as it makes it easier for the pt and the dentist. If the socket is infected now it can be because you haven't been able to brush there. Go back and talk to your dentist, he can give you antibiotics and inform you if what you are feeling is normal. Try using a salt mouthwash, warm and run your toothbrush under the warm tap to soften the bristles when you brush there as this will be easier. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other queries.

as a dentist . I would say that you would just want to research your problem more . For a start this dentist of yours may had to take this tooth out for dental reason . Like you gum would get more worse etc . In pain . I think your dentist may had be right to do this , But i don't know what way your gum or tooth looked
You need to contact the General Dental Council. their web site is http://www.gdc-uk.org/

Good Luck
First of all, you may have a dry socket, and you need to have a dentist or an oral surgeon pack the extraction site with a material that has been soaked in clove oil. That may be your problem, or you may have an infection requiring antibiotics. First, GO SEE ANOTHER DENTIST THAT WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR PAIN. Then, go the ADA website page: http://www.ada.org/ada/organizations/loc... and find your local association for where you live. Get their number and call them, they can help.
Wot if you complain & cant find another dentist...you may have to go back to him .. Say AHHHHhhhhhh
