Why is my dentist going to take out four teeth after they put on my braces?

In some cases the orthodontist wants to put on the braces first to see how your teeth are going to be arranged once they start moving. He/she has to see that your teeth are in the appropiate position to remove the premolars. Also, if you get the teeth out first, chances are that your teeth on the sides will lean inwards towards the space before time and get even more crooked. Your ortho knows when the best time to take out your pre-molars is.
I had two removed before I got my braces. I would maybe get a second opinion.
just a guess.cuz he thought he could fix something but he couldn't and he needs more room so he's taking out teeth? I dunno it's just a random guess!
Good Luck and I hope it doesn't hurt or anything (I've never had a tooth pulled out so.)
yeah... that is strange . i got two teeth removed FIRST then i go the braces on so that they could close the gap
or.. maybe they didn't put the bracket on the teeth they were going to remove.. rite?
Most times it is done before. I have seen it done both ways though. Just remember every case is different overbite, underbite, crossbite etc... Your dentist might have been hoping to achieve results without removing teeth.
im getting braces on wednesday :( and i am also getting 4 of my teeth pulled out :(
and they said that it is because i have 4 too many and i dont need them and it'll leave space for the other teeth to straighten and im not sure why its after braces. you should ask your dentist or orthodontist or whatever
ive never had a tooth pulled in my life but ive had gum tissue removal.
