How hard to brush?
Question:
How hard should i brush? Is there anyway of knowing I'm brushing too hard?
Answers:
if your brushing too hard u may feel pain. there are toothpastes for sensitivity pain so yeah
if your gums bleed its too hard. try sensitive tooth paste or go to the dentist.
if your gums are receeding, meaning they look like they have been pushed away from the tooth and maybe some of the root is exposed, then you are brushing too hard. If your gums bleed, it is not because you're brushing too hard, it's because you need a cleaning. Healthy gums do not bleed. If your teeth are sensitive, you can get a special tooth paste to reduce sensitivity and strenghten the enamel of your teeth, such as pro-namel. Also stay away from whitening tooth pastes and bleaching products, which are known to cause sensitivity. Ask your dentist what kind of tooth brush you should use - soft, medium, or hard
All you do is gently hold the toothbrush against your teeth and do gentle circles. Basically no pressure at all needs applying as long as the bristles are touching your teeth. A good way to tell if it is too hard is if the bristles are bending when you press w/ your toothbrush, also if your bristles quickly begin to stick out on your toothbrush it means your are brushing too hard. Try using three fingers instead of your whole hand, this helps. Use only pointer, middle, and thumb so you will naturally apply less pressure. You also might try an extra soft toothbrush.
Do you use teeth whiteners? They sometimes make your teeth sensitive.
