Can braces pull my protruding gums/teeth back?

Question:
I have an overbite but my lower teeth stick out so it looks i have big gums, im getting braces in a few months, will they correct this problem

Answers:
From what I understand, you say not only you teeth protrude, but your jaw line? I think braces can pull back protruding teeth, but not gums. I have the same issue as you, and I have braces, and so far it has pulled the teeth back, but not the gums, because that part is bone, and the braces don't pull the bone, they pull your teeth. And I've had my braces for 1 year and 8 months
Yes. Otherwise you wouldn't be getting braces.
It will help some but it will not stop the full overbite sorry . You need to get your orthodontist to answer this question . Sorry ones again we don't have pics or measurements (i'm a dentist)
yeah! I have 2 teeth that were protruding alot and within 5 days of getting braces my friends were noticing a huge change! It works good and fast!
