Are acrylic babell balls for a tongue piercing better than metal ones?

You stated it best, "no ring at all will be better" so you know what you should do.
As for which is worse or better for the teeth, neither is better, but the acrylic is less likely to chip or fracture a tooth.
But let me stress this point, both will cause excessive abrasion or wear on the lingual surface and incical edge of the teeth. Anything that is foreign in the mouth will cause unnatural wear on the teeth and the tissue. You won't notice this until it has happened and it can not be reversed. I'm sorry and wish I could give you a different answer but I can't. If you keep the stud, either type, expect serious dental problems to occur, it's just a matter of time.
Your teeth are meant to last a life time, there are too many other reasons for teeth to develop problems, don't give yours the additional risk by keeping the stud in. There is nothing as good as your own natural teeth no matter what condition they are in, replacements are never the same. I hope I've been of some help and that you will discuss this with your dentist before you damage to your teeth. Good luck!
yes the are better on the teeth than the metal but if you chew on it (say in your sleep like I do) the will break faster and you have to get a new ball for the stud. I have had both and find the metal are better for me.
If yu have dental problems then you must weight the pros and cons of getting your tounge pierced. My hubby had his done and broke down his two front teeth and now has to have major work one.
I on the other hand have had no dental poblems and I have had my piercing for 3 years now
Hope this helped.
they are both the same, i been told. i had mine pierced 3 times and they always told me that the material of the ring it dont matter, its all the same.
Yes acrylic is better, try to stay away from anything metal of glass. With metal it is very easy to chip your teeth, and not even know it. Be careful with it either way, but acrylic is better.
try plastic ones
I think the metals ones are better. I wrote you princess but you havent wrote me back so check your email Dolar.
My tounge is pierced and I have the bottom ball metal and the top plastic. Only because when you eat, sometimes your tounge ring will get in the way. So with plastic it wont damage your teeth and most of the time is wont break if bitten on. Acrylic will break and damage teeth, metal will definately crack your teeth so i say go with plastic!
